SHORT STORY

“What have I gotten myself into?” Jayra agreed to be a model for a content creator. She did not know he would take her to a forest for pictures. It is isolated and getting late. She wanted some easy money.

“I hope I don’t fall trying to get to the top of this hill. This may not end well.” Steve is second-guessing their accent to take the perfect picture. He recently got two videos with over one million hits and views. He is adding this to his collection of others that have gone viral. A local brand reached out to him after he promoted their products. He will be paid the money he needs for his new business venture. Steve is an entrepreneur and freelancing has not been the best lately.

“I think I can make it, one more foot and we will be at the edge of the hill,” Jayra is out of breath as she climbs then stands up. She is wiping her hands, then notices a minor cut in the palm. The medic is there and rushes over to clean the wound. Her change of clothes in the SUV. She hustles to the vehicle and changes quickly. Jayra breathes a sigh of relief, knowing her family would be upset with her recent decision. Then she remembers a word from God:

JOURNAL ENTRY:

It’s not over

There is still time

She encourages herself with the word of the Lord. Jayra remembers and thinks about the Lord. She is mumbling to herself internally:

Don’t allow what you see to be at the forefront of your mind

Your sight should be focused on God and the things of God

Remember what God said and don’t forget what He told you

Hold on and watch God reveal the thing that you have been waiting for.

Can’t you see it coming to you and your dream coming to past?

The delay and the wait is over; it shall be so!

What did God tell you? Don’t forget the prophecy!

AFFIRMATION: I have never been forsaken. I am righteous. I do not have to beg for anything that God promised to me.

She did a detailed journal entry and quiet time session with God. Jayra is holding on to what she was taught and how she was raised. She knows God has not forgotten her but she is worried about her future. Jayra switches her mindset and has become committed to working the things that God told her to do. She knows obedience is the best decision.
