Prayer & Affirmation for Freedom from Fear

Based on 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

The word fear in the Greek is phobos. The English word phobia is derived from this Greek word. Phobias are a form of fears and there are hundreds of words like claustrophobia. The definition of the word fear is dread or terror. This is not godly. In 2nd Timothy 1:7 the Greek word is della. In this verse it means, timidity, lacking courage or confidence. We are instructed to be strong in the Lord and allow his strength to empower us for righteous living. If you are experiencing anything like this, I encourage you to be free!

We are encouraged to have the fear of God or theodebia. This is the only fear that is healthy.

PRAYER

Father God,

I come to you repenting for fear. I repent for allowing fear to overtake my belief in You. Fear is broken and removed in the name of Jesus. 2nd Timothy 1:7 says God has not given me a spirit of fear. God has given me power, love and a sound mind. I embrace the Holy Spirit and I release an attachments to the spirit of fear. Lord you love me unconditionally so Agape love is my portion. Phileo is my portion. Familia love is my portion. Freedom is here through Jesus Christ because he set me free, so I am free indeed.

Affirmation

I am free from fear. I am healed from the inside and it is manifested on the outside. I am expressing freedom in my behavior, thought patterns, character, and attitude. Love, power and a sound mind belong to me. I am loved by God unconditionally and I receive the love that He has for me. I believe God has set me free.
