Weight in the Wait
Key Bible Verses: Matthew 11:28-29, Isaiah 40:31

Waiting is not a topic people like to hear, but sometimes God tells us to do this. My encouragement for the day is don’t let the weight of the wait weigh you down. Allow the weight of God (Kabod) to be heavy on you and your life. Kabod is a Hebrew word that means honor, splendor, glory or weight. Have you ever heard there will be glory or God is going to get the glory out of the situation?
No wonder, God tells us to give Him our cares and take up the yoke of Jesus! It is not a light thing to take the yoke upon us and learn of him because of the glory attached to it. The things that are light are afflictions (2nd Corinthian 4:17-18). So, the load or bed of affliction is light. It does not weigh as much as it seems because the end of the thing is coming. However, God’s glory is eternal.
Sometimes the weight of waiting is heavy. It does not have to be. The weight of God’s glory from it is glorious.
Definitions:
Weight: verb, Kabad or Kabed; be heavy, weighty, burdensome, honoured (Hebrew)
Wait: verb, Qavah; gather together, look, patiently, tarry, wait for, on, upon
A primitive root; to bind together (perhaps by twisting), i.e. Collect; (figuratively) to expect -- gather (together), look, patiently, tarry, wait (for, on, upon).
The weight you are carrying may be a sign that you need rest. Your soul needs to rest. Ripping and running is not a good idea. You will get tired but if you do not admit this is present, you will not get the help that you need. You have to learn how to discern the weight of glory and weight of sin.
Life has a lot of surprises and the weight of the world should not be on your shoulders.
QUESTIONS TO THINK ABOUT:
Am I carrying the weight of sin, the weight of the world, and being pressed?
Have my current circumstances spoken and I am not listening?
Will God get the glory out of this situation I am facing?
Waiting on God requires stamina, stability and actions. It is not sitting around thinking something will happen without the activation of our faith. Don’t be fooled by the weight in waiting. Embrace the kabad of God that will be magnified your life. Your separation will lead to sanctification, being set apart as a testimony of God’s grace on your life. Tap into to what God is doing in your life, embrace the race that needs to be run with patience.
