Works If You Work It
Godffirmtion means affirmation and confirmation based on the bible. A God-blog and a God-brand.
KEY VERSE:
James 2:17
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also,
Are you believing God for something? I am sure you have a list of things that you say you are “waiting on God” to fulfill. Sometimes we have not committed to doing the work behind it in preparation for the blessing. What I mean is, that the instruction God gave for obedience has hindered some of the “list” from coming to pass.
In the text, James uses Abraham as an example. Abraham obeyed God’s instructions. If you know the story then you know there were a few missteps. But Abraham is in the “hall of faith” in the book of Hebrews. What we believe about the Lord is important. It has a great impact on how we live our lives as Christians.
Here are a few steps to take that can help you. Believe that this is possible:
You can move forward. Believe you can move forward without being fearful.
You can achieve as God has promised.
You will continue to gain godly insight through his word
You can continue to trust him
You can hold on to God because He does not change.
A few more steps to take:
Confess your fear of taking a leap of faith.
Acknowledge that you had selfish ambition as a hindrance. Sometimes it is our way or the highway even after God has given us instructions.
Allow God to pique your interest and have it pointed towards Him.
Believe that what God can do is tangible.
Meditate on God’s word. Then you can hear instructions from Him.
Once this is done we can move on with God’s plan and purpose.
Repeat as necessary.
The word of the week is Faith. Some scriptures to read are:
Hebrews 11:1
James 2:17
Romans 1:17
2 Corinthians 5:7
1st Corinthians 13:13
