Girt Up with Truth

Ephesians 6:14a
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth....

If you do not wear a belt with certain pairs of pants, when you walk they may fall down. We have all witnessed a person walking around with pants that they are holding or that are far below the waistline. Even fashion factories that make and distribute clothing sold “sagging” pants. This is what we look like in the Spirit if we do not have on the belt of truth. You cannot walk easily and your legs are not in a position to allow you to stand. You may even be very self-conscious about your appearance if your pants may fall down. Why would you do this to yourself?

The truth is something that holds you up and a belt holds your pants up too! John 14:6 tells us what truth is or rather who is truth, Jesus! ! But in order to understand the necessity of wearing the ‘belt of truth’ we have to gather the context of scriptures. In Ephesians 6:12 we are told that are wrestling is not with flesh and blood. So the enemy is not a person, it is spiritual in this text. Paul states 4 entities in the scriptures, you can read them in the passage. He also warns us and makes us aware of the evil day. He writes using metaphors in the passage. Our war clothes are:

1. Belt of Truth

2. Breastplate of Righteousness

In our flesh we need God to fill this need. So not only is Christ Jesus, the truth, God also made Him unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption. (1st Corinthians 1:30 KJV). So where I am going with this? Jesus needs to be involved in our lives in order for us to carry anything out successfully! You do not want to get caught with your pants down in an unrighteous state. If this does happen you will need to repent and ask the Lord for forgiveness, then turn away from that state to remain delivered. This does not mean you will not be tempted in certain areas of struggle, but you can be healed, delivered and set free. With a change in your heart attitude, a change in behavior can catapult you into the right place.
