Life is a Choice

KEY VERSE

John 10:10

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

We do have a choice. We can live life with Christ and have an abundance of life. Or, we leave doors open to allow the thief to sabotage everything we build. Jesus said life and abundance are why He came. It is up to us as individuals to choose life.

In Genesis 2:7, God breathed the breath of life into man. Adam started living after that. He was alive. Alive means having life or not dead, inanimate. Life is filled with actions and reactions. It has motion and moves. Life can be vibrant or relaxed. Each of us have a definition of the best life for ourselves. Our lives have a connection to other lives. Our lives have meaning and reasons. Life is meant to be lived and you are alive if you are reading this!

Choosing life as a metaphor sounds simple but as humans, we dash our dreams by deciding to choose the life that is outside of God’s intentions. This path leads to destruction or a killing off of something that could have been flourishing. We don’t want to stop or hinder our own blessing do we?

Living life to the fullest is something we should expect. Enjoying life is also a blessing. I keep hearing the word restoration. Psalm 51:12 is a verse where David prays, “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation”. The joy of being in relationship with God will return to you. The times that you enjoyed praying, reading the bible, studying the word, fellowship with the saints and more is coming back to you. You have felt the distance between you and God but He is restoring, (making fresh and happier) joy. The oil of joy for mourning (Isaiah 61:1). The mental tug of war will be won if you embrace the joy of salvation. This is what Jesus came to do give you these things, embrace them, hold onto them and don’t be destroyed by a lack of knowledge.

God can restore, remake, review, redeem, re-imagine, recreate and do the things that need to be redone. You are not undone, it is being redone and put in a better condition than previous times!
