On This Journey

Godffirmation: Godly affirmation and godly

Confirmation based on the scriptures

PSALM 121:8

“The Lord shall preserve thy going out and

thy coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”

Life is a journey.  There are ups and downs.  There are highs and lows.  I am sure you get the picture.  Life has good days and bad days.  Sometimes I would like a switch with default to the good time when things seem to be going in a less than favorable direction.  In short, the word journey means, travel from one place to another whether by land or sea.  Journeys involve some type of movement.  We do not want to be stuck in one position or stagnated.  We must move in life whether our situations are what we love or disagree with at the present.

It is time to move forward

Life is in motion.  Motion means the changing of positions.  That is part of the journey.  There are areas of consistency in life.  But, life like the Earth is in a constant motion even if we do not notice it.  We do not physically see that the Earth is rotating on its axis, but things like the sunrise and sunset tell us there is something going on.  Did you know it takes one year for the Earth to rotate on its axis around the sun?  The seasonal patterns tell us there is a shift in the atmosphere above us.  With these ideas, a metaphor to our lives can be found!  Constant motion with different things that take place throughout the day and year is analogous to our lives.

Take God’s lead and forge ahead

There are things we must experience to get to the high that we were expecting.  You do not have to keep up with everything, just the things that pertain to you and the state that you’re in.  Movement is something we should not try to avoid.

  • Movement can be godly.

  • Moving out of a bad circumstance to a “God-created” circumstance is great.

  • Moving can lead to gaining momentum that can continue to propel you in the direction that God is leading you.

Remember the popular saying God is moving.  Pastor Turner used to say, “God is moving, and you better get in on the move.”  This is right where we are.    Throughout this time, God has been wide awake.  He has been the keeper that we were not aware of.  When was the last time that you acknowledged God and praised him for keeping you?

PRAYER

Lord, I thank You for preserving me!  I ask that You continue to do this.  I thank You for helping me in my time of need.  I call on You now and ask that you continue to preserve me from dangers seen and unseen.  My life is Yours and I submit to your will.  Amen
