A New Season
Seasons come and seasons go. With each season there are inescapable attributes that accompany it. For example:
Winter has snow and the coldest temperatures
Spring has blooming flowers and April showers
Summer has higher temperatures, raised dew point and humidity
Fall has moderate temperatures with leaves and foliage falling from trees
With each weather pattern or time of year, our clothing and shoe choices change too! Sometimes we see people with boots on in the summer or shorts in the winter. This type of activity varies from person to person though! Different seasons have a pattern that they follow and people usually go along with it because we do not have any choices about what a season can bring us as weather attributes.
In the book of Ecclesiastes, there is a passage of scripture that is very popular which speaks about a time for this, time for that. It is chapter 3. Most of the time we read this and forget that it is a warning that there is a time for things to take place and a time for the opposite of it to take place. So yes, there are seasons or a specific time that things happen or do not happen. There is a question we can ask God about which season of our lives we are in. You may live in the same home or apartment as someone else but that does not mean you are in the same season. You could have been born on the same day and at the same time but it does not mean you are in the same season. Are you following me?
Our seasons vary and there is a season for every thing. Now I know we are experiencing an unprecedented time marked by things that we do not want to remember. Based on the scriptures there is a time to every purpose and to every thing there is a season. Ask God what season you are in. It might not be what you think it has been. Don’t compare yourself to others because you are uniquely you. You are an original and the only you that God made, even if you’re a twin, triplet, quadruplet, etc.
Be encouraged and take heart for whatever season you are in. It is a season that can be for you or against you. There are parts of the season that will help to establish you. There are characteristics in the season that will teach you. There is something that will be accomplished in this season. There is something that will be completed in the season. There is something that will begin in the season.
