This is the Day
Godffirmation:
Godly affirmation and godly confirmation based on the scriptures
“This is the day, that the Lord hath made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24
Remember the popular commercial that used to ask “What day is it?” with the camel walking around the office? It was a joke about the middle of the week, Wednesdays affectionately known as hump day. So in terms of the word day, what fills yours? A day is bigger than a 24 hour timeframe.
A day in God’s word is like a thousand years. We also know the evening and the morning definition to the word day from Genesis. There is more than one definition of the word day and context matters in all cases. Do you want to have good days or a good day? Do you want to experience daily benefits during the day? How do you approach your idea of day? This probably changes based on how you are feeling and what you have experienced. Nevertheless, it is important to know that the day is God’s creation.
When we look at the day as God’s creation it can help to change our perspective. If He created it, there is something in it for me. The day comes without our approval, just like nightfall. We do not control when it arrives. We can choose how to experience daytime. The day has natural lighting which helps us to see. At times it can imply a period when we can ‘work’. How will you work your day?
Look at the day as God’s creation
The day is controlled by the earth’s rotation. While it is day for you in other areas or nations it may be nightfall. When nightfall begins different types of work ensues. There are different things associated with night. Sometimes people are nighttime folks. Our work schedules and plans for the day are used as a guide for our day.
So what do we do when things scheduled for the day do not go as planned? We make an adjustment and keep moving. The events can cause a pleasant or unpleasant memory. But here we are focusing on the positive! A good habit to enact is acknowledging the God made the day. Dominate your day and forge ahead walking in the dominion God granted us.
Acknowledge what God has done
Each day that we have has memories attached to it. We have to decide that our day will encompass us with the things of God leaving us with His imprint and not the warzone of life we may be feeling. Watch what you consume on television or listen to in the media. These ideas come swiftly and before we know it our day is not going well because we have allowed the wrong influence to creep in.
Make it a habit to rejoice and be glad
