Thoughts of Your Heart
Godffirmation
Hebrews 12:2
(TPT)
We look away from the natural realm and we focus our attention and expectation onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be His, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!
Has your heart been focused on joy? The things that we say come from the heart and according to the word, our hearts are desperately wicked. So our focus shows up in our speech patterns and if our heart is hardened, then hardened words and attitudes are projected from us. We do not want to be in a position where God has to allow situations to soften us now do we? (See Hebrews 3:5)
Doing a heart check is something that should be commonplace in our lives. Things and events happen that may cause us to become insensitive in different areas. If we have been hurt, mistreated, or falsely accused sometimes it is difficult to be opened to forgiving the offender. The place in our heart that was fond of him or her may have departed because of the offense. But sir or ma’am, “Offenses will come”. We have the power to decide who is and is not allowed in our lives. You may have heard the term, boundary.
Sometimes we allow ourselves to endure something that should not be a part of our life. Jesus endured those things for a purpose, so that we might come to the saving knowledge of Him! If the behavior does not fit God’s purpose for your life, you should not feel obligated to entertain it (Psalm 16:5-6).
“The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places” KJV
Be careful about who you chose to spend time with and who you are listening to. Consider whether you are in pleasant places or feel the goodness of the Lord in the situation. Allow God to draw lines in your life. Some of these lines are not meant to be crossed by certain individuals. In worldly terms, you should not allow the line to be crossed for negative reasons. If there is a line that is drawn that means you have a boundary. Use this as a measuring rod for your encounters in this season. Pay attention to the spirit and the feeling that you get during everyday interactions.
What may have fooled you in the past, should not continue to make a fool out of you today. Do something different, read something biblical, learn something that will encourage others and be an example to someone. Your life is meant to be shared with others in a way that glorifies God, not causing stumbling blocks or questions about the risen King Jesus. Be inspirational, informative and forward moving today. Make sure God is pleased with your behavior. He has the final judgement!
