What is your Stance

Remember Moses asked “Who is on the Lords side?” In the book of Exodus the children of Israel were not obeying God. The people were naked and worshipping an idol. Moses prayed and put God in remembrance of what He had already done for them. Then Moses was given some instructions by God, after he was aware of the anger and wrath of God that was impending.

After Moses prayed, he asked “Who is on the Lord’s side”? This is the chapter where they were worshipping the golden calf. Remember that story from Sunday school, bible study or a sermon? After God had done all of those powerful acts, delivered them from bondage in Egypt and led them across the Red sea they decided to follow their own desires. Does this sound familiar?

They changed their stance when their leader Moses was not around. Their attitude revealed that they did not believe the God of Moses. The people asked Aaron to make them gods because they did not know what became of Moses. Well while Moses was in the presence of God, they were worshipping something else. In verse 25 Aaron made them naked unto their shame among their enemies.

There were those that went to Moses, specifically the Levites. Joshua was near Moses and not present while they were worshipping an idol god. We need to be wise, in the right place and proper position. If we are asked to choose, our stance should be obvious to us and others.
