Pleasant Words
Godffirmation is a God-blog and a God-brand offering affirmation & confirmation based on the scriptures.
Affirmations
Affirmations are generally associated with the New Age movement. The proponents of using affirmations are not Christians. Napoleon Hill and Louise Hay used them in the secular community, effectively casting a negative light on their use by Holy Spirit-led Christianity. The Bible has affirmations within the scriptures. For example, Psalm 139:14 says, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” It contains what has been hijacked by secularists.
Affirmation means a positive assertion, a solemn and often public declaration of the truth or existence of something. Some synonyms are declaration and confirmation. When many believers see this usage, it appears to be ungodly. Sometimes it is perceived as positive thinking. But we do have the word of God; bible verses are affirmation and confirmation from the Lord! We can use the bible to shift our stinking thinking.
Godffirmation
The name of my blog is Godffirmation. I saw a few things here and there regarding affirmations. I heard the word Godffirmation, that is what I need. It was the Holy Spirit speaking to me. Scriptures are affirming for our human spirits. As saints, we need Godly affirmation, confirmation, and declarations. Each post has affirming words, declarations from the Holy Bible and confirmation from God! It was a download into my spirit.
This blog was created to encourage and edify believers. Proverbs 16:24 is the verse from the bible that is highlighted. The scripture says:
24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Noam is the Hebrew word for pleasant. It means agreeableness, suitableness, splendor and grace. Pleasant words are healthy like honey. Psalm 119:103-105 describes the word of God as sweeter than honey. Using the word of God to declare (say out loud) and affirm yourself, is an excellent way to start your day.
5 FAITH BASED AFFIRMATIONS:
I am fearfully and wonderfully made - Psalm 139:14
I am victorious through Jesus Christ - 1 Corinthians 15:57
I am gentle and I have a quiet spirit - 1 Peter 3:3-4
I am a good & faithful servant - Matthew 25:23
I have good courage and I am strengthened by God - Psalm 31:24
The origins of affirmations are unknown. The word of God contains affirming words that encourage, provide healing for wounds, soothes our spirit and calm us. Do not be fooled by people who take ideas from the body of Christ and twists them to fit a narrative that is ungodly. Speaking positive words over yourself is a good thing to do. But believers in Jesus Christ have the ability to use his word as an applicator for sore spots in our lives.
Over the years language and the use of it changes. If you have looked in a dictionary, then go down through the definitions there is usually an ‘archaic’ meaning to the word. This means words have definitions that are not used. These words also have a considerable listing of synonyms and antonyms.
SYNONYMS FOR AFFIRMATION:
Confirmation
Declaration
Validation
Acknowledge
These words are familiar. Gideon sought confirmation from God when he got a word of the Lord. Asking God to confirm something is not wrong because God did confirm and affirm what He said to Gideon. It is okay to speak the word of God over yourself and pray to God using the verses of the Bible. Use pleasant words when you speak to yourself.
